The Marvell Open Door Food Pantry, one of the two applicants within the community foundation area of Phillips County that applied for S.L. Gimbel Foundation Fund, has been accepted for a $6,721 grant. The Open Door Food Pantry is supported by the S.L. Gimbel Foundation through the Community Foundation. “We are Thrilled because this fulfills part of our commitment to the county. Phillips County Community Foundation is working nation wide to engage people, connect resources, and inspire solutions and we are grateful to the generosity of the Gimbel Foundation,” commented Phillips County Community Foundation Executive Director Crystal Eastman. Program coordinator, Brent Landon reported that currently the pantry has about 200 clients and that's over 500 that are fed monthly. “We were shocked to learn that our application was accepted. This is a blessing that will go to the continued food service that we provide. A great thanks to the Phillips County Community Foundation and to S.L. Gimbel Foundation for providing us with the resources to continue our services,” commended Landon.
