Frances LaDell Gibson Holland, 96, of Wynne and formerly of Helena-West Helena, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2013.
Frances LaDell Gibson Holland, 96, of Wynne and formerly of Helena-West Helena, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2013. Dell was born Oct. 11, 1916, near Portland, Ark., to the late Charlie and Carrie Hudson Gibson. Her brothers, Rev. Zack Evans Gibson and Rev. Charles Gibson also predeceased her. She married J.P. Holland while working in Crossett, and it was there that their daughter, Sharon, was born. They relocated to West Helena in 1962 where their life was centered on family, friends and serving their Lord and Savior at the West Helena Baptist Church. J.P. passed away in 1979. Failing health required Dell to resettle to Wynne with her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Vance Lawson. Her two beloved grandchildren, Robert and Sarah Lawson, enriched her last nine years there. A celebration of her life was held 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Helena-West Helena. Her nephew, Rev. David Crouch, conducted the service with burial following in Sunset Memorial Park in Helena-West Helena. Visitation was held before the funeral services. Pallbearers were Robert Lawson, Larry Lawson, Wayne Carlisle, Carl Frein, Ken Johnson and Terry Westmoreland. Memorials may be made to the West Helena Baptist Church, 702 Plaza Street, West Helena, AR 72390 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
