Funeral services for Marvel Ivory Lee Green will be held Saturday, March 16 at noon in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Rev. Cedric Pride will officiate the service. Burial will be in Oakgrove No.3 Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 15 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m.
Marvel Ivory Lee Green was born in Ratio, Jan. 4, 1949 to the late Ozzie and Erslene Green. He confessed an early hope in Christ at the Ratio Baptist Church. He joined the St. Simeon Church of Bellwood, Ill. in 1990.
Marvel Green worked at ITT Bell & Gossett for 35 years. He was an outstanding husband, great father and a friend to all that knew him. Marvel was a very soft-spoken mild mannered man that always had a smile on his face and would always help others.
He leaves to celebrate his home-going, his loving wife, Viola Green; three sons, LaTroy Green, Lacyrus Green of Olive Branch, Miss., Kerry Parker Green of Arizona; a sister, Odessa Gamble of Chicago; three brothers, Thomas (Obelia) of Tyler Texas, Willie Green of Elaine, Otis Green of Detroit; a special sister-in-law Donna Hodges; and a host of relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.
