  • If you've ever thought, “I have a story to tell,” but hesitated to put it on paper, Phillips College instructor Carol Birth urges you to sign up for her upcoming writing workshop series. This non-credit writing class will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for four Tuesdays, March 5, 12, 26, and April 2, at Phillips College. The series, called “Writing Your Life,” will teach participants how to use memory and simple writing exercises to develop stories about significant events, people and places in their lives. Birth said this class would jump start ideas and help get participants organized for the finished product. Birth joined Phillips College in August 2011 and currently teaches developmental reading and developmental writing and composition. She holds a B.A. in English and a minor in print journalism and a M.Ed. in secondary education with a minor in English from Harding University. To register for the series, contact Judy Bernard at Phillips College at (870) 338-6474, ext. 1181.
