  • Hear the amazing range of sounds of the organ brought to life by Adam Savacool as Warfield Concerts presents a unique performance this month. Savacool, a renowned Arkansas organist, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at First United Methodist Church at 502 Porter Street in Helena. Bettye and Dick Hendrix are sponsoring the performance in memory of John Crow. What has been described as the most complex of all mechanical instruments and is often referred to as “the king of instruments,” Savacool has beautifully mastered in his 24 years as a church organist. Savacool joined the staff of Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock in 2008 as organist and also intermittently works as a voicing assistant at Nichols & Simpson, Inc. Organbuilders of Little Rock. He also volunteers his time and talents working for the Central Arkansas Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and the National Federation of Music Clubs. Free tickets to this concert may be downloaded at www.warfieldconcerts.com. They are also available at the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce, and the Tourist Welcome Center - or by sending a SASE to P.O. Box 81, Helena, AR 72342 (four tickets honored per request). The same ticket may be used for every regular season concert. No children under the age of six will be admitted.
