Luie G. Wilhite, 83, of Helena-West Helena, passed away Thursday, Feb.7, 2013 at Little Rock. Mr. Wilhite was born Jan.16, 1930 at Coulomon, Ala. to the late Luther E. Wilhite and the late Mae Phillips Wilhite. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He leaves two daughters, Brenda Seaton of Helena-West Helena and Connie Jean Wilson (Henry) of Springdale; six grandchildren, Kim Williams (Travis), Niki Warren (T.J. Jeffers), Krissy Poe (Jason), Troy Seaton (Danielle), Tracy Wilson and Henry Wilson Jr.; 11 great-grandchildren a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Sanford of West Helena; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
His parents, his wife of 65 years, Colleen Wilhite, a daughter, Carol Jane Wilhite and a brother, Clyde Wilhite, preceded him in death.
A service for Luie Wilhite will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11 at Calvary Baptist Church at West Helena. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park at Helena-West Helena. Brother Charles Shipman will officiate.
Pallbearers are Jody Warren, Jason Poe, Travis Williams, Skeet Seaton, T.J. Jeffers and Vince Self. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Wilhite's grandsons and great-grandsons.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or to Calvary Baptist Church.
