Funeral services for Daisy Mae Nero Glass will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at New Haven Baptist Church.
Superintendent Earl Glass will officiate the service.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial will be Saturday, Feb. 9 in the First Baptist Cemetery at Elaine.
Daisy Mae Nero Glass of Helena, formerly of Elaine, was born March 30, 1921 to the late Jacob Nero and Mary Queen in Wilson, La. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Rev. Rufus Glass on Sept. 24, 1943 and to this union nine children were born. Two preceded her in death, Rufus Glass Jr. and Paul Glass.
Daisy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Mother Daisy joined the First Baptist Church of Elaine in 1953 where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail. She was a member of the usher board. She also was a member of the Johnson Caravans.
Mother Daisy passed on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Helena Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four sons, Shepard (Michelle) Glass, of Temple, Texas, Earl (Amanda) Glass of Pine Bluff, Aaron (Bernita) Glass, of Helena-West Helena and Leo Glass, of Elaine; three daughters, Estella (Sammie) Davis, of Helena-West Helena, Pearlie Glass of Helena and Almetta Glass of Elaine; 38 grandchildren; a special grandson, Tyrone R. Smith; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Teressa Jackson, of Green Bay, Wis. and Booker Montague whom she loved as a son.
