  • Funeral services for the Louise Craig Edmond will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 9 at the COGIC of Northern, Miss. State Headquarters, 376 Sunflower Ave. Clarksdale, Miss. Visitation will be at The Jerusalem Baptist Church in Clarksdale, 835 Florida Ave. On Oct. 13, 1938 Louise Craig Edmond was born to the late Jeff and Ester Craig. She was the sixth of 11 children. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Oneida. Louise attended high school in Lake View. On July 23, 1962, she married the “love of her life,” Climent J. Edmond Sr. To this union 13 children were born. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Ester Craig Sr., two brothers, J.C. Craig Jr. and Eddie Lee Craig Sr., three sisters, Ophelia Hennigan, Ethel Leen Brown, and Ollie Mae Lindsey; a sister-in-law, Irene Wesley; a brother-in-law, Cornelius Edmond and a son-in-law David Earl Wide Sr. She leaves her legacy to be cherished by her husband of more than 50 years, Climent J. Edmond of Clarksdale, Miss.; seven daughters, Pamela (Ivory) Gilmore of Elaine, Sandra (Ben) Mckay of Rowlett, Texas, Cathy (The late David) Wide of Clarksdale, Jaqueline Humphrie of Milwaukee, Wis., Barbara (James) Patterson of Tutwiler, Miss.; LaToya (James) Leflore of Bartlett, Ill. and Linda (Tyrone) Rowsey of Horn Lake, Miss.; six sons, Climent Edmond Jr. of Southaven, Miss., Michael (Simone) Edmond of Mesquite, Texas, Anthony (Linda) Edmond of Stone Mountain, Ga., Carl (Tonia) Edmond of Fayetteville, Ga., Timothy Edmond of Horn Lake and Marques Edmond of Robinsonville, Miss.; three sisters, Walter Pearl (James) Bradley of Bellwood, Shirley (Albert) Lee of Chicago and Bobbie Kimbrough of Dawson, Ga.; three brothers, Lawrence Craig of Grand Rapid, Mich.; James (Jeanette) Holmes and Vincent (Vondra) Craig of Helena-West Helena; five sisters-in-law Josephine Arrington, Shirley Lewis, Velma Allen, Ruby Dean, and Nita Watson; six brothers-in-law, Freddie Edmond, Melvin Edmond, Willie James Edmond, William Edmond, Johnny Edmond and Floyd Edmond; two special daughters, Owen Brooks and Pat Townsend of Milwaukee, Wis.; a special son, Joseph (Sandra) Wide of Clarksdale; 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
