Pearl Anna Williams Stevenson was born to Luther and Elzina Williams on May 31, 1955 in Wabash. She was the fourth of nine children.
Pearl Anna Williams Stevenson was born to Luther and Elzina Williams on May 31, 1955 in Wabash. She was the fourth of nine children. Pearl is preceded in death by both of her parents, a son, Henry Stevenson Jr., and an older sister, Shirley William Pearl attended Wabash Elementary School and Elaine High School. She loved to work with anyone who was sick and she loved cleaning. Throughout her life she worked in both of these fields. Pearl was baptized as a child at the Old Jerusalem M. B. Church. She joined Power & Light West Christian Center in Chicago in 2006. She loved her pastor and ministry. She loved keeping everything and everyone in order. Pearl married her childhood sweetheart, Henry Stevenson and two children were born to this union, Henry Jr. (deceased) and Sharron Stevenson Newsom. Pearl was “one of a kind.” When she entered a room, she would make everyone laugh. She was funny, outgoing, and passionate about life. Pearl departed this life Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at Forrest City Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sharron Stevenson Newsom (Monchello); four grandchildren, Antisha DeJuan, Dymon Nycole, Julia KeVondra and Monchello, Jr.; and great-grand daughter, Cassidy; three sisters, Apostle Corine Williams Lovelace, Sherry Evans and Dinail Henderson (Charles); four brothers, Luther Williams (Mary), Stanley Williams, Paul Williams and Darryl Williams (Kim); aunts, Annie Mae McClinton, M.V. Buchanan, and Wyvonia Elizabeth Gammon; uncles, Jonathan Gammon, Eddie Gammon and Zack Gammon; and special friend, Aubrey Garner, Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Mrs. Stevenson visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at the Lake View Church of God and Christ from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Jackson Memorial Cemetery at Southland. Jackson – Highley Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
