  • Funeral services for Jesse Young will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church at Lake View. Rev. Leroy Williams will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery at Wabash. Jesse Young was born May 23, 1945 in Wabash to Leroy Young Sr. and Levolier Young. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. Jesse joined the U.S. Army after graduating high school. He served 16 years in the military and traveled the world. He later returned to Arkansas. In 1969, he joined the Church of God in Christ. In 1987, He married Dorothy "Tiny" Young and to their union two children were born. He also raised a niece. In 2011, he joined First Baptist M.B. Church of Lake View. He remained a member there until his health began to fail him. His wife, Dorothy, his parents, Leroy and Levolier, a sister, Viola Young and two brothers, Leroy Young Jr. and Jerry Hollingsworth, precedes Jesse in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Maryo Young of Chicago, Tammy Young, of Charlotte, N.C., Timothy Young of Atlanta, Ga., Jacqueline Young of Lake View, Angela Young of Lake View; stepchildren, Bernadette Young and Bernard Young of South Carolina; a special niece that he raised as his own, Cynthia Jones of Lake View; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Herman Young of Marvell; sisters, Joyce (Robert) Ringo, of Lake Charles, La., Linda (Jerry) Barr, of Hutto, Texas, Belinda Collin, of Tyler, Texas, Dorothy (Mac) Franklin, of Helena-West Helena, Linda Young and Lue Young of Marvell; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
