Funeral services for Eddie Richardson Sr. will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Freedonia M.B. Church. Rev. Johnnie Bennett will officiate. Visitation will be held in Stephens Funeral Home chapel from noon to 6 p.m. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Garden. Eddie Richardson Sr. was born July 1, 1965 to James and the late Louise Nelson Richardson in Helena. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age at the Freedonia M.B. Church. As a young man growing up, he enjoyed singing and was a member of the church choir. He was a member of the Spiritual Six group. Eddie was a 1984 graduate of Central High School. He was employed at Helena Industries Inc. He married Willie Mae Kelly on Aug. 22, 1992. To this union two children were born. Eddie died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. His mother, Louise, a brother, James Jr. and a sister, Katherine, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Eddie Richardson Jr.; a daughter, Moneka Richardson, both of Helena; his father, James Richardson Sr.; six sisters, Lillian (Charles) Thomas of Helena-West Helena, Mary (Joe) Jennings of Little Rock, Lorraine (James) King of Helena-West Helena, Lillie (Robert) Buckingham of Memphis, Emma (Theodore) Lee of Helena-West Helena and Carolyn (Edward) Givens of Memphis; four brothers, Freddie (Sherry) Richardson, Robert Richardson, Jerome Richardson and David Richardson, all of Helena-West Helena; two uncles, Howard Nelson of Marianna and John (Walter Ann) Nelson of Helena-West Helena; an aunt, Ethel Richardson of Helena-West Helena; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a very special friend, Marilyn Brown of Helena-West Helena.
