There's just something magical about the anticipation of seeing a live performance onstage. The whole make-believe world of theatre – from the actors, the directing, the costumes, the lighting, and props – and the magic happen when all of these elements come together. This year, Phillips College (PCCUA) and Helena Little Theatre (HLT) are celebrating a milestone in this community and will mark it with a unique performance.
Marking the 25th anniversary collaboration of PCCUA, Helena Little Theatre, and PCCUA Performing Arts Director Kirk Whiteside, HLT and PCCUA will come together once again to present a musical revue…..A Broadway Celebration! and invite you to be a part of this special performance.
Whiteside said act one will “celebrate” favorite moments of HLT/PCCUA performances over the past 25 years, while act two focuses on Broadway shows that HLT and PCCUA have never performed. The show will consist of solos, duets, as well as ensemble and chorus numbers.
Whiteside is now holding non-scheduled open auditions for singers. Veteran HLT performers will not be required to audition.
Whiteside noted that the cast will only be rehearsing two evenings per week (Mondays and Thursdays) for a total of 10 rehearsals. The first rehearsal will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Tech/dress rehearsals will begin on Sunday, March 3.
Performance dates for A Broadway Celebration! are March 7-9 in Lily Peter Auditorium at Phillips College. To schedule an audition, please contact Whiteside at 338-6474 ext. 1327 or e-mail email@example.com.
