Rodger Williams, 52, of Yellville and formerly of Helena, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at Mountain Home. He was born April 13, 1960 in Helena to Thomas Eugene Williams and Cora (Lawrence) Williams.
Rodger was employed at Jantran, Inc. in Rosedale Miss. as a riverboat pilot and captain.
His sister, Joanne Von Kanel his brother, Glen Williams and his parents, preceded him in death.
Rodger leaves his children, Ashley Leann Williams Peschel of Belton Texas, Jarrod Blaine Williams of Helena, Kendall Silverberg of Helena, and Robert Allen Williams of Greer's Ferry; two brothers, Jim (Hazel) Williams of Helena, Wayne (Rita) Williams of Ovett, Miss.; three sisters, Maxine (Ben) Marberry of Batesville, Miss., Mary Frances (Arnold) Everett of Hot Springs and Lynda Sue (Franklin) Rice of Helena-West Helena. He also leaves a special niece and nephew, Kelley Loe and Mark Williams.
Rodger loved his family. He also loved the river—it was his life. And he loved motorcycles.
Several years ago Rodger was saved by faith in Jesus. Later he was baptized into the First Christian faith.
Funeral services for Rodger Williams will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Helena-West Helena.
Pallbearers are Jarrod Williams, Bobby Williams, Kendall Silverberg, Mitch Hill, Ernie Todd and Tommy Loe.
