  • Billy Joe Amos Sr., 81, of Helena-West Helena, passed away Tuesday, Jan.15, 2013 in Memphis. Mr. Amos was born March 9, 1931 at Pocahontas to the late Fred and Sina P. Pinegar Amos. He was a Baptist and a former employee of Mohawk Tire and Rubber Co. Mr. Amos leaves two sons, Billy Amos Jr. (Susan) of Lexa and Terry Amos (Lesa) of Gaston, S.C.; three daughters, Debbie Wilkinson (Custer) of Rena Lara, Miss., Margie Smith (Johnny) of Marvell and Evelyn Wheeler (Johnny) of Helena-West Helena; two sisters, Geneva Brown (Tommy Gene) of Phoenix, Ariz. and Otra DeLong of Jerseyville, Ill.; a brother, Bob Amos (Ruth) of Hernando, Miss.; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. His parents, two sisters, three brothers and a grandson, Jabe F. Amos, preceded him in death. Graveside services for Billy Joe Amos Sr. will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park in Helena-West Helena. Rev. Rodger Hooker will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, Helena-West Helena, will direct services.
