Funeral services for Raymond Williams will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Greater Powerhouse Church of God in Christ. Rev. Amos Newell will officiate the services.
Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel.
Raymond Williams was born to Henry and Sara Williams in Helena on July 23, 1927. He confessed a hope in Christ at the Zion Hill M. B. Church in 1944 where he was baptized.
Raymond attended Catholic School in Helena. He enlisted in the Army in 1946, where he became a corporal and served until 1953. After returning home, he was a long-time employee for Mohawk Rubber Co. and the East Central Arkansas Economic Development Corp. for Forrest City.
He attended Crowley's Ridge Vo-tech and received a certificate in auto bodywork. He later became a counselor for the Open Door Group in Helena-West Helena until his health failed.
His parents, grandparents, a sister, a daughter, two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild preceded him in death.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Daisy of Helena; seven daughters, Barbara (Bobby) Jeffery of Stuttgart, Angie Neely (Ojeda) Penn and Sara Neely of Atlanta, Ga., Joyce, Tyresa, Sandra and Sharon, all of Helena; a son, Raymond (Paula) of Helena-West Helena; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and a brother-in-law, Walter Pannell.
