Mary Geneva Short Williamson, 70, of Wabash, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at DeSoto Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, Miss.
Mrs. Williamson was born March 19, 1942 in Manila to the late Gathan Ira and Mary Geneva Files Short. She served with the U.S. Postal Service for 46 years.
Mary leaves two daughters, Lisa W. Clegg (Philip) of Clarksdale, Miss. and Micki W. Hall of Wabash; a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Smith (Michael Parker) of Cleveland, Miss.; grandsons, Claude Clegg and Bowen Clegg both of Clarksdale, Miss.; two sisters, Ollie McWilliams of Lake View and Lottie Potts of Wabash; two brothers, Gathan “Bud” Short (Christene) of Wabash and Chester Short (Linda Jo) of Greenville, Miss.
Her parents, G. I. and Mary Short, a sister, Wanda Myatt and a brother, Chester Short, preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Mary Geneva Short Williamson will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Helena - West Helena. Rev. Nathan Gorman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Roller-Citizens.
Pallbearers are Chester Short, Del Burns, Jonathan Gschwend, Chris Potts, James Myatt, Clark Short, D.J. Watkins and Jason Short.
Honorary pallbearers are Philip Clegg, Claude Clegg, Bowen Clegg, Michael Parker, Chester Myatt, Bud Short, Lester Jones, Robert Ross, Junior Merritt, Mann Copeland and Rex Potts.
