  • Funeral services for Sandy Williams Jr., 42, of Helena-West Helena, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5 at Zion Hill M.B. Church. Rev. Ja'Sean Smith will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Oakgrove No. 3 Cemetery. Sandy Williams Jr. was born to the late Sandy and Lorean Williams. He was born Jan. 25, 1970 in Helena. He was the sixth child born into this union. Sandy accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Hill MB Church. Sandy attended school in the Helena-West Helena Public School System graduating with the class of 1990. He will be remembered by his peers as being "Best Dressed". He will also be remembered for his warm spirit, abundance of laughter and loving smile. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and dancing. Sandy's employment history includes West Hornor Motor Co., the Helena-West Helena Fire Department, Isle of Capri and the Phillips County Detention Center. Sandy departed this life on Dec.24, 2012 at his home in Helena-West Helena. His mother, Lorean Somlar-Williams and his father, Sandy Williams Sr., two sisters, Dorothy Lofton and Evelyn Williams, and a brother, James Hayes, precede him in death. Sandy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tommie Faye Williams; five children, Sandy Williams III, Justin Williams, Sandreasia Williams, Evelyn Williams, Daneisha Woods; five grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Williams Thomas (Elton) and Sandra (Joel) Blue; a brother-in-law, Walter Lofton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and a special friend, Minnie Grant.
