The trial of a former police officer charged in a sweeping drug and corruption investigation in eastern Arkansas is scheduled to begin.
Former Helena-West Helena Police Sgt. Marlene Kalb's trial on money-laundering and drug-related charges is to start Monday in federal court in Little Rock.
Kalb has pleaded not guilty and has maintained her innocence.
Kalb is one of six former law enforcement officers indicted in an investigation called "Operation Delta Blues" that focused on corruption and drug trafficking in the Mississippi Delta town of Helena-West Helena.
Four other former law officers have pleaded guilty to various charges in the case and dozens of other people were also indicted as a result of the investigation.
