Funeral services for Maurice Sims were held Saturday, Dec.1, 2012 at Miracle Revival Temple. Elder James Hicks officiated. Burial was in Branch Baptist Cemetery at Marvell.
Maurice Sims was born Sept. 12, 1973 to Richard (Dick) Bell and Dolores Bobo-Sims-White in Blue Island, Ill. Maurice confessed a hope in Christ some years ago at Apostolic Assembly Church in Chicago. He went down in the water under Jesus' name at Miracle Temple of Deliverance Church in Helena-West Helena. Several years ago he attended the Jesus Christ Apostolic Church in Harvey, Ill. along with his mother, Dolores Bobo-Sims-White who was also a member at that time.
Maurice graduated from CVS High School in Chicago in 1992. He also attended Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C.
He worked at Price-Waterhouse-Coopers in Chicago. He later worked at Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Ga. until the time of his illness.
Maurice departed this life on Nov. 27, 2012 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
His father, Richard (Dick) Bell, his brother, Donald (Ducky) Jamerson, grandfather, Jimmy Bobo, grandmother, Mattie Lee Bobo and aunt Arnetta McClinton, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Dolores Bobo-Sims-White of Helena-West Helena; siblings, Lee James (Sandra) Sims of Brinkley, Dorothy Lorraine Parker of Hinesville, Ga., Kenneth Wayne (Linda) Fields of Matteson, Ill., Agnes Elaine (Frank) Davis of Matteson, Ill., Leonard Earl Sims of Phoenix, Ariz., Cleveland Sims of Gary, Ind., Mertis Harris of Columbus, Ga., Karen Parham of Chicago; two uncles, Spence (Rochella) Bobo and Will Samuel (Diane) Bobo; six aunts, Luella (Robert) Davis, Flora Lee Patterson, Morristene Bobo, Maxine Bobo-Wilson, Alfreda Bobo; and a multitude of nieces, nephews.
