Elisha White, 89, of Poplar Grove, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born April 6, 1923 in Phillips County, the son of Dan and Bessie Watson White.
Elisha was a U.S. Army Veteran, a farmer, and a member of Asbury Missionary Baptist Church in Marvell.
He leaves a son, Alfred White (Vernice) of Glenwood, Ill.; two daughters, Joyce Banks of Maplebrooke, Minn. and Errie White Smith (Wayne) of Little Rock; 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
Elisha was preceded in death by his wife, Ida B. Sims White, three sons, Christopher, Donald and Maurice White, a daughter, Maggie White, two brothers, Ike and Bill White, four sisters, Melissa Winston, Lillie Mae Townsend, Ora Sims and Cora Sims.
Visitation for Elisha White will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bob Neal & Sons-Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday Dec. 8, 2012 at Asbury M.B. Church in Marvell with Rev. Leroy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery.
