Helena-West Helena's Cherry Street Historic District will be included in 10 walking history tours across the state organized by the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program.
The tours will take place in March through December 2013.
AHPP's “Walks Through History” and “Sandwiching in History” tours will visit historic properties across the state, according to Frances McSwain, AHPP director.
The first walking tour will take place in Saline County and will include the Marylake Carmelite Monastery. The series will conclude in December with a tour of the Marked Tree Commercial Historic District in Poinsett County.
The Cherry Street Historic District tour will take place on April 13. This tour will begin at 1 p.m. and will coincide with the annual meeting of the Arkansas Historical Association.
