  • Funeral services for Fred Lee Morris Jr. will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in the Santuck community near Marvell. Rev. Jerome Burkett will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 7in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive M.B. Cemetery in Santuck. Fred Lee Morris Jr., 62, of Marvell, was born Aug. 31, 1950 to Estella Clay and Fred Morris Sr. in Helena. Fred graduated from Eliza Miller High School in 1970. He attended Seminary School in Brooklyn, N.Y. and the New York City of Technology. Fred was employed with Don and Bragstee for 20 years and with the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years. Fred passed on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at Helena Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Fred leaves his wife, La'Meatrice Morris, of Marvell; a son; Micaah Morris, of Brooklyn; two daughters, Michelle (Darwin) Frazier of Brooklyn, Martha (Larry) Brown of Helena-West Helena; stepchildren, Alzavian Wilson, of Shreveport, La., Tina (Patrick) Cook of Lawrenceville, Ga., grandchildren, Daniel Edwards, Robert Brown, Johnathan Cook and Henry Cook; his mother, Estella Clay, of Helena-West Helena; a brother, Timothy of Marion, Calif.; sisters, Mary Johnson of St. Louis, Joyce (Charles) Winfield, of Helena-West Helena, Patrice of Kansas City, Mo., Valarie of Detroit and Stacey of Detroit; sisters-in-law; Ethel(Freddie)Walker, of Harvey, Ill., Ella(Tony) Boland, of Cordele, Calif., a brother-in-law, Adlie Boyd of Marvell; an aunt, Margaret Smith, of St. Louis; and an uncle, O.D. Henderson, of Milwaukee, Wis.; godchildren, Deirdre and Yusef Skinner of Atlanta; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
