  • The Helena-West Helena Police Department reported Monday that they are currently investigating a possession case after officers responded to a shots fired call in the 600 block of Seminole Street and found 5 marijuana plants growing in the rear of the home of Cherise Davis.
Officer Sylvester Rose reported that while looking around the house for spent shell casings, he noticed the plants growing beside a dog cage in the back yard hidden by a large mattress.
No arrests have been made at this time, but a continuing investigation is currently being conducted by the PD, which is expected to net several arrests and expand across the city for backyard and the home manufacturing of illegal drugs.
