  • Back-to-school shoppers are expected to flock to Arkansas stores this weekend for the annual sales tax holiday.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, sales tax won't be collected on certain back-to-school items sold at Arkansas stores. The holiday runs until 11:59 p.m. Sunday. All retailers are required to participate.
It's the second year Arkansas has offer the sales tax holiday after lawmakers approved it in 2011.
Items included are: clothing or shoes that cost $100 or less, school supplies and accessories like handbags or watches. The tax exemption does not apply to computers, software or other electronics.
