Lee T. Bobo, 64, of DeKalb, Ill., died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, DeKalb.
Born July 20, 1947, in Elaine, the son of LeRoy and Sarah Lee (Jackson)
Bobo, he married Laverne Rose in Chicago.
Lee graduated from Lake View High School in 1966. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne. Lee was an Illinois state trooper for 24 years. In retirement, he worked for the DeKalb Park District at Buena Vista Golf Course and also farmed corn, wheat and soybeans in Arkansas.
He leaves his wife, Laverne; his children, Glenda (Sidney) Dumas of North
Aurora Ill., Edward Bobo of Naperville, Ill. and Daphne Bobo of DeKalb; grandchildren, Mikaela, Marcus, Edward Jr., Sydney, Elijah, Jackson and Rylee; his mother, Sarah Lee Bobo of Elaine; seven brothers, Charles Dunlap, James Jackson, Sylvester (Alice) Bobo, Michael Bobo, Derome (Brenda) Bobo, Dennis (Patrice) Bobo and Ricky (Ruby) Bobo; four sisters, Dorothy Hamer, Sarah Anna Hoskin, Bertha (Terry) Quiney and Linda (Billy) Duncan; his aunt, Odessa Young; daughter, Trina (Carlos) Livingston-Wedderburn of Indianapolis, Ind. and her children, Shelby, Lashauna and Shalaby; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His father, LeRoy and two brothers, Edward Bobo and Ray Bobo, preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 28 at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, with the Rev. Robert Vaughn officiating and full military honors provided by the DeKalb County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m.
