Olive Cox, 81, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011.  She was born Feb. 8, 1930 to Samuel and Alice Sanders.  She was a member of McArthur Assembly of God. 

 



Olive Cox, 81, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011.  She was born Feb. 8, 1930 to Samuel and Alice Sanders.  She was a member of McArthur Assembly of God. 



Olive was an inspiration to her family and to everyone who crossed her path.  She was an anchor and a refuge in the time of need.  Olive taught us about love and passion and the power of prayer. 



Olive was preceded in death by her husband, W. Forrest Cox, five sisters, Bessie Staggs, Deller Staggs, Florence Reynolds, Dorothy Busby and Mary Darby, a brother, Samuel “Buster” Sanders and a grandchild, Diane Wilburn.



 



She leaves her four children, Sheila Taylor of Byhalia, Miss., Samuel McCrary of Little Rock, Reuben McCrary of Clinton and Melody Bodiford of Cabot; a sister, Cornelia Cavette of Springdale and Reverend J.L. Sanders of Helena; grandchildren, Sheryl Thomas, Theresa McGee Thomas Taylor, Andrew Prowse, Samuel McCrary, Christina McCrary, William McCrary, Lee Ann Sumner, Heather Bodiford Bartels, Grant Bodiford, Rhenda Sobba, Eddie Lott and James Lott; a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews



 



Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville with Pastor Johnny Hunt officiating. Graveside services were held at Sunset Memorial in Helena-West Helena. Pallbearers are William McCrary, Thomas Taylor Jr., Andrew Prowse, Jerry Sobba, Eddie Lott, Ronnie Long and Mike Sanders. Special thanks go to Doctor Deborrah Cerrato and Mickie Metcalf for their wonderful care of our mother.
