The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services said Friday that 2,500 more Arkansans were unemployed in June than in May. The state unemployment rate still trails the national rate, which was 9.2 percent in June, up 0.1 percent from May.

The state's civilian labor force had 8,500 fewer workers in June than in May, but 5,900 more workers than in June 2010.

The state lost 5,200 jobs in state and local government, mainly due to summer break at public schools.
