Funeral Services for Ethel Mae Valley-Bowman will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 29 at the New Haven Missionary Baptist Church, in Helena-West Helena. Visitation will be at Brown’s Home for Funerals on Thursday April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. 
Ethel was born on May 8, 1930 to the late Elmedia and Andrew Valley in West Helena.  She married Lawrence Bowman Sr. in 1952 and to this union 10 children were born.  Ethel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was a unique person and loved people. 
She was born May 8, 1930 and was born again spiritually to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Ethel was a member of the Spirit and Truth Holiness Church in Helena-West Helena.  She loved her church family and loved her pastor and his family. On April 24, 2011, she made another great step when she moved from her earthly life to her eternal life with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by Lawrence Bowman Sr. (husband), Marca Mitchell (daughter), Richard Benson (son-in-law), Fletcher Garner (brother), Lawrence Glover (brother) and Earnestine Battles (sister).
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Juanita Murphy (Acie), Francett Benson (Richard), Sharon Lewis (Delaware), Marca Mitchell (Edward Ralleigh), Jacqulin Booth (Maurice), Burdette Pendleton (Kevin), Melesha Bowman; sons, Lawrence Bowman Jr. (Cherif), Scott Henry Sr., Sheldon Henry (Lynn); Sisters: Christine Miles; Maggie Melvin (Willie Carruth) and Elmedia Sanders; grandchildren, Ronita (Johnny), Roosevelt Jr. (Giona), Cassandra, Patty, Kimberly, Shawn (Tunisha), Acie (Stephanie), Adrian, Chevion (Taneka), Tarian (Shun), Tanesha, Morocco, Lil Richard, Camden, Johnny, Kimberly, Majis, Daichi, Mikai, Jasmine, Kameron, Forest, Nazareth, Gary, Nigel, Huitt, Princess, M. J., Chastity, Kevin Jr., Arquette, Heirion, Trent, Ebonee, Malik, Shatika, Carlisha, Jessica, Keyunna, Shantika, Darius, Lil Scott, Shakira, and Demarius; godchildren, Wanda Crockett, Linda Jones, Rose McKay and Bennie McKay; special friends in-Christ, Vivian Eaton, Reba Wesley, Jimmie Wright, Evelyn Walker, Love continued with a host of great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
