Motivational speaker Bob Holmes, better known as “the one-man volleyball team” is coming to Barton School this Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. His program is called “Stand Alone and Beat the Odds.”
“It takes more than words, it takes action to beat the odds,” says Holmes.
Holmes has single-handedly taken on and beaten the Minnesota Vikings, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Miami Dolphins, the Washington Redskins, the Baltimore Orioles with Cal Ripken and Jim Palmer, the Toronto Blue Jays, the New England Patriots, a first place beach volleyball team, Penn State, all athletic teams of Texas A&M University, the Buffalo Bills, three times, and many other collegiate and professional teams. His record stands at an amazing 16,800 wins and 397 losses.
Other schools that have invited Holmes to present his program call it, “a life-changing experience” for the students.
Holmes has challenged the staff or students of the Barton/Lexa School District to do battle on the volleyball court. Can they beat him?
Before the presentation, the Coordinated Health Program at Barton and Delta AHEC will host a health fair from 5 to 6 p.m. Please come early and get valuable health information and take advantage of free health screenings.
All parents, grandparents, alumni and supporters of the Barton Bears are invited to attend this important program.
