The School Board met Monday night to do a quick review of the board’s budget from last month to the current date.  Each month a report is turned over to the board to inspect their expenditures.
“This is what we should be doing every month anyway,” Superintendent Willie C. Williams said.
Rayne Gordon pointed out the negative balance from some accounts but they reportedly turned up in what the district refers to as the “general funds” account.
It was reported that when certain funds are not being used, they are put in “general funds” so they can be used elsewhere.
Rev. Jarvis Smith said he felt it, “extremely prudent that a review should take place on the day closest to the 15th of each month because we need to know as much updated information as we can about what is or isn’t being spent.”
The board intends to conduct similar budget reviews each month.
