An 80-year-old Marvell woman was robbed at knifepoint around 8:15 a.m. Monday at her home on Carruth Street.

 

An 80-year-old Marvell woman was robbed at knifepoint around 8:15 a.m. Monday at her home on Carruth Street.
The robber forced his way into the house through a back door while the lady was taking a shower. As she entered the kitchen, the man grabbed her put a knife and telephone cord to her neck. He asked her where  her money was and accompanied her into a bedroom where he took $100 in cash from a Bible and raided the woman's jewelry box, taking three gold rings with diamonds valued at over $5,000.
The robber was described as a black male between 17 and 22 years of age, around 5'8” and 5'9” feet tall with a dark complexion and short haircut.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing blue jeans and blue boxer shorts.
The Phillips County Sheriff’s Department and the Marvell Police Department are conducting the robbery investigation.
