Central will make the long journey to Northwest Arkansas next week to participate in the Hooten Classic.
The Cougars are scheduled to take on Rogers Heritage Sept. 2 in Don Reynolds-Razorback Stadium.
It won’t be an easy game for the visiting Cougars.
While Heritage is picked for fifth place in the 8-team 7A-West, the War Eagles are expected to be competitive based on the 10 returning starters from their 2009’s 9-3 record.
Heritage has gradually built its program from the ground up since beginning play in 2008.
Central head coach Russell Smith never takes an opponent lightly.
While the game won’t mean much in the Delta since it’s a long way from  the 5A-Southeast schedule, a win would serve notice to pollsters that Central has the tools to make it deep into the 5A playoffs.
