Funeral services for Louis Chandler Jr., 67 of Helena will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3 at the P.L.M. & D District Center. Rev. Jessie King will officiate.
Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Garden. Visitation will be Friday, July 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kincaid Funeral Services.
Louis Chandler Jr., also known as "Joe", was born April 14, 1943 in Mississippi County, Arkansas to Beular Mae Chandler and the late Louis Chandler Sr. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 13 at the Midway Baptist Church of Marvell. He later joined St. Luke Church.
Louis worked for the Corps of Engineers and the federal government for 31 years and earned many honors and awards for his service. He married the love of his life, Adline Linzy, Dec. 3, 1981, and they shared 29 years of blessed marriage together.
Louis was a quiet man that loved to fish, cook and spend time with family and friends. On Thursday, June 24, 2010 "Joe" answered his "Master's call" and was rewarded for a life of servitude to our Heavenly Father.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Adline Chandler; two daughters, Shawanna (Anthony) Daley of Jonesboro and Michelle Chandler of Helena-West Helena; two sons, Reginald Chandler of Helena-West Helena and Antonio Chandler of Russellville; his mother, Beular Carter of Helena-West Helena; a brother, Sylvester (Mona) Chandler of Little Rock; a sister, Savannah (Cecil) Brooks of Hazelcrest, Ill.; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandchild, 6 special In-Laws, J.B. Linzy (Belinda) of Waukegan, Ill.; Blanch Murphy, Earline (Randy) Giles and Johnny Linzy, all of Chicago, Rosie (John) Farr of Helena, Patricia (Bill) Smith of Jonesboro; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and 3 special caregivers, Rosie and John Farr and Cassandra Ezell.
