Louise Byrd Davison, 95, died at her home in Marvell Sunday, June 20. She was born Feb.19, 1915 in Helena, the daughter of John and Bertie Louise Rohrscheib Byrd.
Louise was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Marvell where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Sunday School Extension Department called "Young at Heart" for many years. She was a member of the Marvell Garden Club, served on the hospitality committee of her church and served as a den mother while her sons were in Cub Scouts. She was a good artist and painted many beautiful pictures over the years.
Louise leaves a son, Ben B. Davison and wife, Lou Ann of Marvell; three grandchildren, Anna Louise Miller and husband, Jason, Larry C. Davison and Phillip L. Davison; and two great grandchildren, Ian and Elliana Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben H. Davison; a son, Larry Gene Davison; three brothers, Marven, Sonny and Woodrow Byrd; and two sisters, Mary Merrell and Julia Mae Lauderdale.
Pallbearers will be Larry Davison, Phillip Davison, Jacky Ford, Pointer Hall Sr., Curtis Storey, Jason Miller and Mike Garner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Byrd, Buddy Byrd, Doug Byrd, Woodie Byrd, Ellis Bruce, Bill Young, Dallas Miller and Bonner Foree.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. today in the Bob Neal and Sons-Brickell Funeral Home chapel in Marvell with brother Marcus Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Marvell Cemetery.
