Marvell Academy concluded its regular season Thursday night at home against Desoto.
“It’s Senior Night,” as well as a matchup of county rival, said Headmaster Brad Foster.
The District 1A Tournament will begin next Thursday at Delta Academy in Marks, Miss.
Once again MA will host the North Mississippi State Tournament  starting Feb. 9.
The Lady Eagles are rolling along with at 19-8 and are in the second place behind Delta.
The District 1A Junior High Tournament will begin Saturday at Tunica (Miss.) Academy,
Central will host Nettleton tonight, weather permitting. The Cougars (3-2 in 5A-East and 5-10 overall) lost, 64-52, at Greene County Tech Tuesday.
Barton will host Pangburn tonight in a District 2-3A game.
Marvell travels to Hughes tonight.
Heads up for Jason Rolet, executive director of the Phillips County Boys and Girls Club, for another well played boys basketball season.
Rolet, who witnessed plenty of good athletics while pursuing his degree at Texas Tech University, has finalized plans for the girls basketball season that begins in February.
Meanwhile, all eyes will be on next Wednesday’s national college signing date for area football players.
Central is expected to lead the signing headed by Anterio Sloan who is still pondering all of the offers from several universities.
