Surrounded by her loving children, Helen Elizabeth "Libby" Polk Wolf was received into the arms of her loving Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010.
Born in Helena on Dec. 17, 1944 to Cadwallader Leonidas Polk Jr. and Helen Clopton Polk Mosby, Libby spent her life as a loving mother, devoted educator, and dear friend to many.
Raised in Helena, Libby graduated from All Saints Episcopal High School in Vicksburg, Miss. in 1963. She studied at Marjorie Webster College of the Arts in Washington, D.C. and completed her studies at Delta State University. She served as an educator for more than 25 years, enriching the lives of countless elementary children in the Helena-West Helena Public School System.
Libby was a champion of the arts, enjoyed tennis, and was an active member in the community. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Junior League, and actively supported the Warfield Concert Series. Libby also cherished her summers in the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly in Monteagle, Tenn.; She was a lifelong member of Saint John's Episcopal Church in Helena.
Two children, John Clopton Stuart Wolf of Helena and Elizabeth Polk Wolf Zucchero (A.J.) of Atlanta, Ga.; her loving mother; and dear sister, Gloria Polk Nobles of Memphis, survive her.
Her father, her stepfather, Henry Winston Mosby of Helena and her beloved brother, Cadwallader Leonidas Polk III of Houston, Texas, preceded her in death. Libby was a beloved aunt, cousin and friend.
Visitation with the family will be held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in Helena-West Helena from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, followed by the Rite of Burial on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at St. John's Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Libby's memory can be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or the Warfield Concert Series Foundation.
