Funeral services for Dave Mitchell will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at the P.L.M.&D. District Center at Helena Crossing with the Rev. James Hicks officiating. 
Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel at 417 Walnut St. in Helena.  Burial will be in Oakgrove No.1 Cemetery.
Mitchell, a loving husband and father was born on June 29, 1948 in Jonestown, Miss.  After giving his life to Christ, he joined the Lake View COGIC.  He later joined and became a minister at the Miracle Temple Church of Deliverance.
He married Iona Mitchell Dec. 23, 1970 and to this union, three girls and six boys were born.
He was employed as a truck driver for Farmer’s Supply for several years.  Dave was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, minister and friend.  He was well loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Dave died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 in Helena. 
Preceding him in death are his mother, Carrie Mitchell; father, Nesby Mitchell; grandmother, Annie Cage; aunt, Ruby Pickens; uncle, Will B. Splunge and brother, Lloyd Mitchell.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Iona Mitchell of Helena; three daughters, Nortoria (Michael) of Helena, Angela of Little Rock, Kim of Helena; six sons, Don (Lisa) of Rex, Ga., Jimmy (Lisa) of El Dorado, Aaron of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lonnie (LaCrystal) of Jonesboro, Ronnie (Cardria) of Helena-West Helena, Cedrick (Lynn) of Texas; six sisters, Annie Jackson, Shellie (Dwight) Edmond, Glory (William) Ewing, Debra (Herman) Golida, Brenda Mitchell, Yvonne (Michael) Corbin; three brothers, Hubert (Gail) Mitchell, Nesby (Diane) Mitchell, Terry Mitchell; four sisters-in-law, Learleen (Oneva), Paula Ann (H.T.), Clara (Jerry) and Mary Mitchell; 33 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and host of nieces nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and associates.
