The Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup is coming to town. This year the Helena-West Helena Code Enforcement Office and Main Street Helena are joining forces in sponsoring a community-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 18.  Interested groups or individuals are invited to participate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Main Street Helena is excited about joining the Code Enforcement Office in this effort, and encourages everyone to turn out,” states Paula Oliver, Main Street Helena executive director.
The project will be bigger and better this year, including painting, weed eating, and trash pickup. Code Enforcement Officer Patrick Allen adds, “The Code Enforcement Office will identify specific areas of the community that need attention.”
Anyone interested in participating should call Code Enforcement at 717-1450 or 338-1056, or the Main Street Helena office at 338-9144. It will begin and end at the Cherry St. Pavilion. The Helena-West Helena Fire Department will cook hotdogs for participants at the conclusion of the event.
