Police in El Dorado say a homeless man known to help out others in the south Arkansas town was found dead in front of a strip mall.
Detectives are investigating the death of 51-year-old David Pay as suspicious. Pay's body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.
A passer-by found Pay unresponsive and bleeding from the mouth around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday. When police and paramedics arrived, Pay was dead.
El Dorado police Detective Darien Martin described Pay as "honest, trustworthy and easy going." He said Pay chose to be homeless.
