Bernice M. (Brantley) Boyhan, 83, of Owasco, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla. with her family by her side.

 

Bernice M. (Brantley) Boyhan, 83, of Owasco, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla. with her family by her side.
Bernice wintered at the Pioneer Park RV grounds for many happy years.
Bernice was born in Barton on July 23, 1925. She was the daughter of the later Elmer and Anna Brantley. Husbands, George Malone Jr., (who died in 1964) and Thomas E. Boyhan (who died in 1998) preceded her in death.
Bernice was a loving mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Thomas Boyhan owned and operated Tom Thumb Drive –In from 1971 to 1978. She spent many years in her retirement traveling and camping across the country.
She leaves her children, George Malone III of Niles and his daughters, Carrie and Molly; Kathryn Masotto and her husband, Peter of Owasco; Jane Pysnack and her husband, Jack of Rochester, N.Y. and their children, Thomas and Amanda; her stepchildren, Thomas C. Boyhan and wife, Janet of Everson, Wash., Kenne Edwards and her husband, Reginald of Spartanburg, S.C. and their children, Tamara and Scott; Michael P. Boyhan and his wife, Carol of Columbus, Ohio; and Michael’s children, Heather, Kelly, Erin and Adam; her sister, Clara Mae Edwards of Kansas City, Mo.; a very special sister-in-law, Nancy Malone of Houston; several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Bernice also leaves her companion of the last 9 years, Norman Vogt of Missouri.  Brothers, Ellis and Herbert Brantley and a sister, Rachael Hawes, preceded her in death.
Friends may call on the family at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St. Auburn, between 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009. A private burial will be held at the family cemetery in Helena-West Helena at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, because of Bernice’s love of her cat, Farley, the family requests that donations be made to aw local humane society of the donor’s choice in memory of her.
