Helena-West Helena’s criminal investigation officers are investigating the reported rape of a 14-year-old West Memphis girl, who was in Helena visiting relatives. The assault on the teenager occurred sometime Monday after 2:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Kentucky Street.

Helena-West Helena’s criminal investigation officers are investigating the reported rape of a 14-year-old West Memphis girl, who was in Helena visiting relatives. The assault on the teenager occurred sometime Monday after 2:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Kentucky Street.
According to the police report, the girl and her cousin were walking along Kentucky and stopped to talk with some boys her cousin knew. They were invited into one of the boy’s house. Once inside, the girls were separated.
The 16-year-old boy began making advances on the teenager, forced her into a bedroom where he held her down, put his hand over her mouth and raped her.
Once the girls returned to the relatives’ house, she told her uncle what had happened and he notified police.
The investigation was turned over to the CID unit of the police department, who plan to call in a state police investigator to assist in their investigation.
In an unrelated incident, Allen Hill, 57, of West Street has been charged with the rape of an 8-year-old girl that happened sometime between June 1 and July 1 at his home.
According to Helena-West Helena Police Criminal Investigation Division reports, Hill is being held in the Phillips County jail on a $200,000 bond.
The investigation has been turned over to the Crime Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police and the CID officers are assisting with the investigation.
