A man has been sentenced to eight years for attacking his mother.

uthorities say a Summers man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to hitting his mother in the head with a baseball bat because he thought she stole his beer.
Authorities say 38-year-old Freddie Jay Anderson pleaded guilty to first-degree battery and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with 12 years suspended. He was also sentenced to eight years in prison on revocation of a suspended sentence for sexual assault. The sentences will run concurrently.
Anderson pleaded guilty in 2003 to sexually assaulting a man in the Fayetteville city jail.
According to police, Anderson attacked his mother, Patsy Ann Anderson, with a baseball bat on March 8.
